Everything worth knowing in Marketing & AI, before your coffee gets cold.

Hey there!

Everyone made a different bet on AI this week: some gated it behind a paywall, some wired their platforms directly into a rival's, some raised big money betting brands need help getting noticed by it. Different bets, same underlying question nobody's actually answered yet.

Three headlines that matter (and why)

Meta just put a price tag on its own marketing tools.

Meta launched "Meta One" on September 15, a paid business subscription with four tiers, from Essential at $14.99 up to Max at $499 a month, gating tools like Competitive Insights and Custom Audience Insights behind a paywall for the first time. The launch came alongside a global rollout of Meta's Creator Marketing Hub with one-click ad creation.

Why it matters: features that used to be table stakes for advertisers just became a line item. If your team has been using Meta's free tools without checking what moved behind the paywall, this is the week to check.

AWS and Salesforce just wired their tools directly into each other.

On September 18, AWS and Salesforce extended their partnership with new integrations: Salesforce CRM data and actions are now available inside Amazon Quick, and Salesforce's Slack is getting the AWS DevOps Agent, with more AWS agents planned to follow.

Why it matters: two of the biggest platforms in enterprise software just made it easier to move between their tools without picking one over the other, which quietly raises the bar for every smaller vendor caught in between.

Helping brands win inside AI answers just became a $1.8B business.

Profound closed a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation on September 15, serving over 1,000 enterprise brands including a third of the Fortune 100. Its "AI Marketer" deploys sub-agents that refresh stale content, find earned media openings, and launch ads directly across OpenAI, Google, and Meta's ad managers. Why it matters: investors are betting big that AI visibility becomes a permanent, fundable category, not a fad.

Two numbers reshaping the story

→ 51%

This is the share of B2B software buyers who now start their research with an AI chatbot instead of a search engine or review site, according to G2's "Answer Economy" report. If half your buyers are forming an opinion of you before they ever hit your website, "getting found" and "getting recommended" have quietly become two different jobs.

→ 2.7 trillion

This is what Gartner now forecasts the world will spend on AI in 2026, up 49.5% year-over-year. "The buildout of AI data center capacity is the largest infrastructure project humanity has even undertaken," said Gartner's John-David Lovelock. Numbers at that scale stop being a marketing stat and start being the reason every tool you use is about to change shape.

One updates from us

We're live at ANA's conference this week, September 23-25 at MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD. Coincidentally, if you're also going and want to see what an adaptive website actually looks like instead of hearing us describe it, come by the booth, plus grab some merch while it lasts.

We're also hosting a small, invite-only dinner Thursday evening for growth and performance marketing leaders who'd rather talk shop over good food than another conference-floor conversation.

No agenda, just people who get it. Seats are limited.

That's it for this week.
